• • How do I get started?
    Use our search feature to find the Shurgard store that is most convenient for you – near your home, work or in between. Use our storage size estimator to choose a unit that is just the right size and the right price. Then fill in the reservation form whereby you can lock in your price and any promotion that may be applicable. There is no cost and no obligation. You can later change your mind and choose another storage unit size. To sign the contract you can come to your selected Shurgard store or we can also arrange your contract over the phone.
  • What size units do you have?
    Our standard sizes range from 1 to 30 m² and 2,7 meter high (all dimensions are approximate), but many facilities also offer smaller and larger spaces, from storage lockers to extra-large units. Use our size estimator to find the right amount of space for you; you can always measure your unit at the store for suitability.
  • Does Shurgard provide locks? Do you keep a key to my storage unit?
    You may purchase a new, sealed lock at any Shurgard store. No one else has a key to that lock – just you. Your personal Shurgard lock can be re-used the next time you use a Shurgard storage unit.
  • What’s the difference between an indoor unit and an outdoor unit?

    Indoor units are protected from the elements and have broad hallways (and elevators in multi-story facilities). Outdoor units are usually on one level and offer the convenience of drive-up access.

  • What is secure self storage?
    All our stores are monitored by security cameras placed in strategic locations. You are the only one with access to your unit, which is locked with a specifically designed lock owned by you. You use a personal electronic access code to access the premises, your code only allows access to the floor where your unit is located.
  • What is the minimum rental period?

    The minimum rental period is one day. You can store for as long as you want, there is no maximum rental period. Contracts are automatically renewed on a monthly basis.

  • Do you rent space month-to-month or do I have to sign a storage rental agreement?
    Our rental agreements are month-to-month agreements; no long term lease is required.
  • Do I need to give you notice when I move out?

    Yes, we need the notice at latest the 15th of the month, for move out at the end of that same month. Notice must be given in writing – either by e-mail, post or fax. You will receive a confirmation of receipt of the notice

  • When can I access my storage unit?
    At all Shurgard stores, you have free access 7 days a week from 5.30 AM till 10 PM; your store manager will be able to confirm arrangements for your local store.
  • What is the difference between access hours and office hours?
    During access hours, you can use your access code to access your storage unit. During office hours, your store manager is available to provide in-person customer service (like answering questions, selling supplies, accepting rental payments and so on).
  • If I rent a storage unit from you, can my spouse, kids or friend have access, too?
    When you rent from Shurgard, you can allow access for other people you specify (or restrict access only to yourself).
  • Can I move to another room if I need more or less space?
    As your requirements change, you are welcome to move to another room at any time at no extra cost.
  • If I lose my key, what do I do?
    Call your Shurgard store manager for assistance during regular office hours.
  • Do you require insurance on my stored goods?
    You are responsible for the things you are storing at Shurgard and insurance for your stored belongings is required. You may be covered under an insurance policy you already have. Affordable storage insurance is available at any Shurgard store.
  • What kind of documentation do I need to provide to rent a storage unit?

    This is what we will need to complete the contract:

    • For private rent: a valid photo ID
    • For business rent: evidence of link with the company (i.e: business card)

  • Do you have handcarts or trolleys I can use at your facilities?
    Yes. You are welcome to use our trolleys while you are at Shurgard for free.
  • Can I rent in person, or on the telephone?

    You are welcome to walk into any Shurgard store and rent in person. Or you can call us for free at 80-71 80 27 to ask questions or reserve by telephone.

     

  • How does the 1 kr. or 50% off promotion work?

    This offer is valid on your first month's rent, no minimum stay is required. Valid for new customers only, selected units only. Excludes cost of lock, insurance and administration fee. These promotions can not be combined. Contact your local store for more details.

  • How do I cancel a contract?

    The contract is valid until further notice. The contract can be cancelled by Shurgard or the customer at the end of the calendar month. The cancellation shall be in writing and be Shurgard to hand on the 15th at the latest.

  • How do I pay my bill?

    Shurgard offers four convenient ways to pay: 

    • Pay by cash or card in the store
    • Pay via internet
    • Pay by Direct Debit
    • Pay at any of our 10 Shurgard locations in the Denmark
  • What methods of payment do you accept?
    We are able to accept cash, credit or debit cards (Maestro, Visa and Mastercard).  Unfortuantely we are unable to accept American Express cards

  • If I do not rent storage, can I still purchase storage and moving supplies?
    Yes. All Shurgard locations sell top-quality moving and storage supplies like boxes, tape, protective wrap, furniture covers and more. You do not need to be a storage customer to buy supplies. Go to our moving boxes and packing supplies page to see our latest special offers!
